Milan Design Week
Expectations were high in Milan for the return of the Salone del Mobile and Design Week and Perdormire were present with two incredible installations.
Plan Bee: Fabio Novembre and PerDormire for a sustainable future
An idea that speaks of protection, mutual respect and connection, paraphrasing one of the most poetic and grandiose examples of sociality present in nature: the hive.
Plan Bee, the installation born from the creativity of the designer Fabio Novembre and created with his three new bed models Villa, Casale and Loggia, represents the place par excellence, the hive in fact, in which the roles of each component are established hierarchically.
Fabio Novembre affirms: “Let’s clarify a common misunderstanding: Albert Einstein never said that if the bees disappeared, after 4 years we would become extinct; but it is certain that the examples of collective intelligence of birds, ants and bees were seen by him as the evolutionary challenge for man. Connection, cooperation, mutual completion, these are the foundations upon which to try to imagine our future. The honey of creativity must return to flow into the hive of our sociability, and pollination will always be the highest form of connection. Connection, cooperation, mutual completion, these are the foundations upon which to try to imagine our future.”
And it is about the future that PerDormire wants to talk this year, celebrating 50 years of a company that has made connection, collaboration and innovation the levers that have allowed it to become a successful business.
Marvellously Hotel Couture
Desire for lightness, colour and above all, novelty. These are the elements that inspired PerDormire Hotel in designing and creating something different and unexpected, starting from the assumption that this was the perfect time to give free rein to the imagination and to creativity, without setting any limits for ourselves.
“The brand has been searching for nothing less than a differentiator that is able to attract attention and unite two distant worlds such as the hotel and fashion sectors,” says Paolo Luchi, Sales & Marketing Director.
Starting from this concept, PerDormire Hotel has decided to create an icon bed that contains within itself all the charm of a unique and exclusive product. Something never yet thought of and created for the world of hospitality and that is destined to be the subject of interest: the Feny bed is composed of a headboard and a sommier covered with feathers.
Nothing is random in this new creation signed by PerDormire Hotel, starting indeed from the choice of feathers. The Tuscan company has chosen Mazzanti Piume as a partner, the oldest artisan business in Italy able to process feathers. It is a purely artisan Florentine activity that, since 1935, with passion and creativity, continues to grow in sectors as diverse as haute couture, furniture, set and window design, cinema, theatre, and more. Their consulting is required by an increasingly vast world that seeks in its feathered creations its true essence of uniqueness.
PerDormire Hotel and Mazzanti Piume met and created something wonderfully unique, a product able to take the concept of tailor-made to the extreme, while enhancing the craftsmanship and the concept of Made in Italy that has always characterised our country.
All this was made possible by the stylist and designer Simone Guidarelli, one of the most quoted Italian creatives, thanks to the installation presented during the Design Week in Milan 2021.
It is not easy to describe the enthusiasm felt in discovering how two different worlds such as hotellerie and fashion can make connections between one another, giving life to something truly special. The idea of PerDormire Hotel is to maintain this emotion over time and tap into it as an inspiration for future projects.
